Missouri is becoming more attractive for gun and ammo manufacturers.
The state House gave first-round approval Tuesday to a bill giving tax credits for firearm makers that relocate to our state. The bill would let those manufacturers claim a tax credit on withholding taxes from creating new jobs.
The plan is sponsored by a Republican from Joplin. Bill White says the credit will help lure companies looking to move from states with stricter gun control. Opponents say Missouri would be playing favorites with the gun industry.
With one more “yes” vote, the plan will move on to the Senate.
