President Barack Obama is expected to highlight a new Missouri program that fast-tracks students to college degrees when he visits the University of Central Missouri Wednesday afternoon.
Obama will likely speak about the “innovative campus” program while talking on the Warrensburg campus. Students involved can earn community college credits while in high school, then get a bachelor’s degree from UCM within the next two years. They’re also participating in internships at local businesses.
The speech is scheduled for 4:00 Wednesday afternoon. It’s his first speech in the Show-Me State since a memorial for tornado victims in Joplin two years ago.
