The Jefferson City Council works on a deal to help developers working on the old St. Mary’s hospital. The council voted unanimously Monday night to set up a Tax Increment financing deal with the Farmer Company. The developers have submitted two proposals…one which will cost about 45 million dollars and include space for Lincoln University, retail and office space and commercial space. A second plan would run about 31-million dollars which does not include space for Lincoln and increases the amount of commercial space. If one of the projects is approved by the city council, construction would begin in 2018..with completion sometime in 2020.
