Woman who killed retired cop husband dies in prison

A convicted Mid-Missouri killer dies in prison. The Department of Corrections confirms 44 – year old Sandra Plunkett died last week at the Chillicothe prison. She was convicted in 2014 in the shooting death of her retired Jefferson City police officer husband Paul Plunkett. She claimed she was a battered spouse. Prosecutors say Plunkett killed her husband to collect his insurance money to spend on drugs.
