Worker badly hurt in quarry accident

A Jefferson City area worker is in critical condition at University Hospital after an accident at a rock quarry Tuesday. Crews were called to the Algoa Road area to Mid-Missouri Surfaces after several large marble slabs fell on the man at the job site. He was flown to Columbia because of his injuries. Investigators say each slab weighed about 1000 pounds.
