Mizzou sanctions and opioids could take center stage at Capitol

(MissouriNet) — Senate Majority Leader Caleb Rowden is blasting the NCAA’s sanctions against Mizzou, calling their decision “disheartening at best and incompetent at worst.” The Columbia Republican tells Missourinet he will address the issue on the Senate floor in Jefferson City next week. He says the decision tells other college programs that doing the right thing should be a last resort. Meantime, Sikeston State Representative Holly Rehder will help host Wednesday’s annual recovery advocacy day in Jefferson City. Rehder says about six-thousand children are removed from substance abuse homes annually.
