Columbia Working to Add A Fire Station

The city of Columbia plans to build a new fire station. City leaders are currently working to purchase nine acres of land for the new station in the southwest portion of the city at the corner of Scott Boulevard and Route KK. As of right now, Fire Station Eight serves that area, but officials say the average response time is 10 minutes. The land is expected to cost more than $2 million.
