Is the Governor’s plan for road bonds going to happen?

(MissouriNet) — The Missouri House Budget Committee chairman is proposing a 100-million dollar transportation infrastructure plan that does NOT raise taxes or incur new debt. Carthage GOP State Representative Cody Smith has concerns with the governor’s 350-million dollar bonding plan to repair or replace 250 bridges.

Smith says the state Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has paid more than 700-million dollars in debt payments in the past two years. Smith tells Missourinet he’s met with Governor Mike Parson, adding that he will work with the governor to find a transportation solution.
