A new judge will hear assault case against Cole County Assessor

A Cole County Judge recuses himself in the case against another county official. Associate Circuit Judge Cotton Walker steps down and won’t hear the misdemeanor assault case against Assessor Chris Estes. Estes is accused of punching a neighbor during a property line dispute in June. Another Cole County judge will be assigned to the case.
