Will Columbia go back to online learning?

While Jefferson City’s schools are back in the classroom, it’s not a done deal in Columbia. The Columbia Public Schools board talks more about its return-to-learn plan this (mon) afternoon. The district recently announced it planned to use a hybrid model of in-person and online learning once classes start next Tuesday. But the district’s online coronavirus case tracker shows the Columbia area is now averaging way more than 49 new positives a day. That’s the level where CPS planned to switch to online-only learning. The health department’s new order requires Boone County bars and restaurants to stop selling alcohol at 9pm, and close at 10:00.
