“Rebel Rock” is leaving the Capital City

The United Daughters of the Confederacy is getting their marker back. The Jefferson City Council votes to return the controversial marker that was ordered torn down at last month’s council meeting. The marker on Moreau Drive marked where former Missouri Governor and Confederate General Sterling Price decided not to attack Jefferson City during the Civil War. Several groups successfully lobbied the city to have the marker removed, saying it glorified the city’s racist past.
