Senator Blunt is no fan of a second Trump impeachment

Roy Blunt voted yesterday (tue) to declare it unconstitutional for the Senate to hold an impeachment trial for a president no longer in office. He said it would be a (quote) new, destructive precedent (unquote). Missouri’s senior Senator joined a large majority of Republicans in that vote. The motion failed, but it does appear to show Democrats won’t get the GOP votes they’ll need to convict President Trump.
