Monday fire burns State Government building

A fire damages a Jefferson City state office building. Fire crews were called to the state’s Information Technology Services building on East Elm Monday night. About 80 I-T staff and some Children’s Division employees work out of the building. No one was believed to be inside. Part of East Elm is closed to traffic today. Investigators says the building was heavily damaged and a lot of high – end computer equipment was destroyed. They’re still looking at a cause.
