Suspected Columbia killer caught in Iowa

A Columbia-area murder suspect has been captured in rural Iowa. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say 36-year-old Mark Achterberg was arrested Wednesday in Creston, which is southwest of Des Moines. Achterberg is charged with first degree murder, accused of shooting and killing Justin Stidham on Monday afternoon on North Kent drive. That’s just north of Columbia.
