Truck versus train in Cole County

A collision between an Amtrak train and a pickup truck in mid-Missouri’s Centertown caused traffic issues on Wednesday evening but no injuries.

Cole County Sheriff John Wheeler says he’s thankful there were no injuries in Wednesday evening’s collision, which happened at Centertown’s Oak Street crossing. The collision delayed the Amtrak train for more than an hour.

The village of Centertown is west of Jefferson City.
