The Governor goes after teen smoking

Missouri’s governor credits the state’s finances for helping to provide the funding for the state’s largest single investment into tobacco cessation in state history. Governor Mike Parson says the money will make smoking prevention much more accessible:

The governor says the program is being increased from 50-thousand to two-point-five million dollars in general revenue. Columbia-based MU Health Care says the extra funding will save Missouri 21-million dollars in future health care costs.
