JCMO will buy News Tribune building for center site

Jefferson City could be one step closer to building a conference center. Councilmen okayed spending nearly $600,000 to buy the old News Tribune building. The Monroe Street building and the Madison Street garage will be torn down to make room for a conference center and an attached hotel. City leaders are looking for a developer.
