Trial set for Hermann cop killer

A jury trial is now set for a man charged with killing a Hermann police sergeant and wounding another officer. The trial is now set for January 2026.

Kenneth Lee Simpson allegedly shot the two officers at the Casey’s store in Hermann last spring when they tried to pick him up on warrants. He was arrested after an hours – long standoff.
