Missouri River may be cresting today

The Missouri River appears to be cresting at Jefferson City today at just over 25 – feet. Flood stage at the Capitol is 23 – feet. The North Jefferson City levee near the airport holds back 30 – feet of floodwater. There can be some flooding along Turkey Creek and other tributaries. The flooding is much worse upstream in Nebraska and Iowa, where at least one person has died.
