Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department has temporarily closed all park and trail restrooms due to the extremely cold temperatures heading for mid-Missouri. Prolonged freezing temperatures can cause the restroom plumbing, valves and fixtures to freeze and shatter, which could lead to costly repairs.
Columbia officials have also canceled Saturday’s MLK Day of Service at Cosmo park, due to the winter weather.
