No .. that phone scammer ISN’T a deputy

The Cole County Sheriff says don’t believe a phone call claiming there’s a warrant out for your arrest. John Wheeler says the scammer says he or she is ‘Sgt. Jenkins’ and adds he needs your personal information. The caller goes on to say they need a money order to avoid arresting you. Wheeler says they’ll show up at your door with a warrant. They’ll never call first.
