Cole County Shooter Identified

Cole County deputies identify and charge a Jefferson City man in the shooting death that occurred near Brazito Friday. 21-year-old Austin Corrigan faces several charges, including second-degree murder and armed criminal action after he allegedly shot 63-year-old Clifton Withers and his girlfriend at their home on Route E. Clifton was pronounced dead at the scene and the female victim was taken to University Hospital. She was last listed in stable condition. Corrigan, who was the one who made the call to police about the shooting, was arrested following a chase that ended in a crash in Holts Summit.
