Missouri House Gives Initial Approval for Tax Collection

If the Missouri house gets its way, out-of-state retailers will have to collect taxes for online sales to Missourians. A bill to do just that received initial approval on Tuesday. Last year, the Supreme Court ruled states could collect such a tax. The bill would not apply to any online retailers that sell less than $100,000 in products to Missouri residents, unless they make over 200 separate sales in a year.
