Car versus pedestrian sends JCMO woman to the hospital

A pedestrian is badly hurt after being hit by a car in Jefferson City.

Police say it happened at about 6:50 a.m. Friday at Highway 179 and West Edgewood Drive. Kristi Phelps apparently tried to cross Highway 179 when she had a red light. A car with a green light hit her.

Police say Phelps, 27, has severe injuries.
