Woman arrested in shooting death of JCMO man now in Boone County Jail

A Moberly woman accused of killing a Jefferson City man will spend the holidays in Boone County Jail. Investigators say Angelica Benitez shot 25-year-old Marquis Hayes inside a truck in the Clark Lane McDonald’s drive-thru last week. Her truck was found abandoned just outside Saint Louis a couple days later, with Hayes’ body in it. Benitez is accused of second degree murder and armed criminal action.
