Woman convicted in brutal Missouri murder is put to death

The U.S. government carries out its first execution of a female inmate in nearly seven decades. Lisa Montgomery died by lethal injection early this (wed) morning at a federal prison complex in Indiana. The Kansas woman killed a pregnant woman from the northwest Missouri town of Skidmore in 2004, and took out her baby. Bobbie Jo Stinnett was 23 years old. That baby is now 16.
