Murder charges filed in connection with the death of a Cole County infant

A Cole County couple now faces murder charges in the drug related death of their baby. A grand jury this week indicted Jason Williams and Kayla Brewer after meth was found in the 2 month old baby’s system last September. The Elston pair initially faced drug and weapons charges in the case. Officers didn’t at first suspect foul play, but an autopsy turned up a significant amount of meth.
