Jefferson City murder victim’s name has not been released yet

Jefferson City Police have not identified the homicide victim who was shot and killed during a Saturday afternoon disturbance near Broadway and Atchison streets.

JCPD Lieutenant Dave Williams says the city’s communications center began receiving calls about the disturbance just after noon on Saturday. Lieutenant Williams says a suspect has been identified and taken into custody without incident. His name hasn’t been released.

Nor has the name of the 27-year-old victim.
