Former deputy’s discrimination suit dismissed

A fired Cole County deputy sees his discrimination suit thrown out. David Barrett filed the suit last year after his 2021 firing. He contended he was fired from the department when co-workers learned he was bi-racial. Barrett worked as a deputy beginning in 2006.
