Decades old JCMO pharmacy changes hands

Jefferson City’s oldest pharmacy is selling out to a national firm. Whaley’s Pharmacy is selling its three Jefferson City stores to Walgreens, effective next week. Former Mayor ‘Red’ Whaley started East End Drug in 1943. Whaley’s will transfer patients’ prescriptions to Walgreens. The East High location is best known for an old time soda fountain.
