Car – destroying hailstones take out an emu at the zoo in Springfield. The 21 – year old emu died after getting hit by softball – size hail Tuesday. At least one other bird was hurt. No staffers or visitors were injured during the hail storm. Several people were treated for injuries from being hit by hail or getting into car crashes.
