KWOS is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week, brought to you by MU Health Care Sports Medicine. This week, we feature the Blair Oaks Girls Golf Team.
The golf team of Addie Kekec, Taylor Linhardt, Ashtyn Shaw, McKenzie Martin and Taylor Brooks are the 2026 state champions in Class 2 as they captured the school’s first state title in the history of the golf program. They won the team state title by 32 strokes over second place St. Francis Borgia.
In addition to the team title, Sophomore Ashtyn Shaw and Freshman McKenzie Martin also earned individual all-state honors for Blair Oaks.
“We started this journey about three years ago, trying to bring in a culture of really good, competitive golf and this year a lot of the experiences that they’ve gained over probably the last two years have really paid off,” said Blair Oaks Girls Golf Coach Kirby Keth. “We started out really strong. They came in with a great attitude and worked hard and we had a really good start to the year. Their effort and their teamwork just kept developing through this season.”
During the regular season, the Blair Oaks team won six tournaments. They also captured a district title before winning the Class 2 state title last week.
Congratulations to the Blair Oaks Girls Golf Team. They are State Champions!
