A case involving a former city of Centralia equipment operator who slipped on an icy sidewalk in 2024 will be heard Wednesday afternoon by the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District in mid-Missouri’s Fulton.
This case involves Missouri’s Second Injury Fund. A three-judge panel consisting of Judges Gary Witt, Mark Pfeiffer and Tom Chapman will hear oral arguments at 1 pm at William Woods University, in the Bernard Weitzman courtroom.

They’ll hear oral arguments in four cases including a local one called “Russell Chick vs. City of Centralia.” Chick was an equipment operator in Centralia and slipped and fell on an icy sidewalk in February 2024 while walking to a maintenance shop. He’s had neck pain and has undergone two surgeries on his right arm.
Chick is appealing the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission’s finding that he was only partially disabled.
