Some Cole County homeowners are going to court to block the auction of an Elston farm. Lawrence Renn Junior left his farm to the county in his will. Hawthorn Bank, the administrator of his trust, plans to auction it off Saturday. County commissioners are not involved in stopping the auction. Their lawyers say the county has no valid grounds to sue.
The citizens group is upset that the World War 2 veteran’s farm is being auctioned off at the St. Martin’s VFW.
