Way too many folks in the county jail have serious mental health issues. But there aren’t any beds available in mental health facilities. Cole County Sheriff John Wheeler would like to see the county’s law enforcement sales tax adjusted up so he can better deal with overcrowding. He has to pay other area jails to house his overflow.
