Columbia-based MU Health Care has announced they’ve signed an agreement to acquire Summit Pharmacy in mid-Missouri’s Holts Summit. The transaction is expected to be finalized in December.
MU Health Care says the acquisition represents their continued investment in Holts Summit and Callaway County and follows the May opening of MU Health Care’s new primary care clinic there. Holts Summit has about 4,600 residents.
MU Health Care says expanding pharmacy services in Holts Summit is a natural step in their efforts to improve access to care for patients and families there. MU Health Care says that as part of the agreement, they’ll offer employment opportunities to eligible Summit Pharmacy employees.
MU Health Care says patients do NOT need to receive care from an MU Health Care provider to use Mizzou Pharmacy services.
