Columbia, Jefferson City and mid-Missouri have seen about a 50-degree drop in temperatures since early Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis says Columbia tied a record high Sunday of 71 degrees, before a cold front moved through that brought some light snow to the area. You’ll need to dress in layers this (Monday) morning and will need your winter coat and gloves. While we’ll see sunshine today, Columbia’s high is only expected to be about 27 degrees.

We will see more normal temperatures by Wednesday, which is New Year’s Eve (December 29, 2025 graphic courtesy of National Weather Service Twitter page)
