The filing period opened Tuesday for candidates seeking election to the Jefferson City Council. Ward 1 incumbent Jeff Ahlers and Ward 2 incumbent Aaron Mealy both filed for re-election. So far there’s a challenger in Ward 4, that’s Julie Allen. And in Ward 5 Shane Kempeter has filed. The filing period remains open through the end of the month. The election is April 8.
