Jefferson City Councilman Shane Kampeter loses his bid in the State House race in Cole County’s 60th District. He was beaten by Democrat Suzanne Luther.
Representative Dave Griffith was term – limited. Griffith was elected as the new Cole County Clerk. He faced no opposition.
Former Senator Mike Bernskoetter defeats Chuck Steck to win Cole County Presiding Commissioner.
Former JCMO Mayor Carrie Tergin wins the 59th District State House Race.
Democrat Suzanne Luther wins the 60th District race narrowly defeating Shane Kampeter.
Cole County Voters also backed Congressman Bob Onder and State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick’s re-election bids. Jefferson City Voters approved an increase in the city’s sales tax for public safety. The funds will be used for police and firefighter salary hikes.
Several of Cole County’s Judges, the prosecutor and other officials all ran unopposed.
