Covarrubias is scheduled to appear in court via video today at 1 before Boone County Judge Kimberly Shaw for a confined docket hearing, which is a bond hearing.

Last weekend’s early-morning shooting near Ninth and Broadway killed 21-year-old Stephens College senior nursing student Aiyanna Williams. The Columbia Police Department’s three-page probable cause statement alleges that Covarrubias fired his pistol 11 times in what court documents describe as “the busy, crowded downtown area.”
