The woman accused of shooting and killing her neighbor in Holts Summit won’t be inside a courtroom until next month. Heather Smith is accused of shooting Kara Dills as the two argued outside the Hunter Lane apartments. A Boone County judge will hear the case April 20th on a change of venue.
Smith is also accused of grazing a man with a bullet at the scene when she pistol-whipped Dills and the gun went off. Smith also faces charges of child endangerment and weapons offenses. Investigators say Dills was shot as she walked away.
