If you end up with a bat in your house .. don’t mess with it. They often carry rabies. Cole County health officials say they’ve confirmed a bat that was caught by a cat tested positive for rabies. They say the cat will be put down and tested for the disease.
Raccoons and other wild animals also frequently carry rabies.
