The Jefferson City Council is now officially talking about buying the News Tribune property on Monroe Street, which would be used for a new hotel – conference center project.
The city would spend $575,000. The city wants tear down the parking garage at 200 Madison Street and build the complex on the half – block lot.
They are now looking for a developer.
