Jefferson City voters renew the city’s 7 – percent lodging tax for another 25 years. Almost 54 – percent of the voters cast YES ballots, with nearly 4400 – votes cast. Over 15 – percent of the voters went to the polls for the one – issue election. The tax has been on the books since 2011. About half of the tax goes to fund the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
There is a pending lawsuit challenging the legality of the lodging tax.
