You could end up paying a lot more for a parking ticket in Jefferson City. The Council is being asked to hike those fines to $25 dollars up from $6. The cost of hourly meters and monthly rates would go up as well.
Meanwhile,Columbia Public Works says parking utility staff will begin updating the downtown parking meters this week to the new one dollar hourly rate, an increase from the current 60 cents.
Columbia Public Works says it’s the first on-street rate adjustment since 2013.
