KWOS is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week, brought to you by MU Health Care Sports Medicine. This week, we feature Blair Oaks Falcons Quarterback Beau Buhr.
Friday night, the junior quarterback threw two touchdown passes and ran for two other scores, all in the first half, as Blair Oaks beat School of the Osage 55-7. One of his touchdown passes was a 54 yard score to Skyler Lootens. Buhr also had a touchdown run of 62 yards in the game.
“He is electric. I won’t say he is quick, he’s electric. He is so good at running the option. Beau can throw the ball accurately and that is what we need in our offense but he is so smooth at running the offense and I think everybody kinda gets lulled to sleep. He is able to play football in a phone booth. When he hits the second level of defense, which is the linebacker zone, if you haven’t put a hand on him, he is probably going to take it the distance or go a long way,” said Blair Oaks Head Football Coach Ted LePage.
On the night, Beau Buhr averaged over 10 yards a carry on the ground. He rushed for 116 yards in the game to go along with 185 yards passing.
