KWOS Athlete of the Week: Helias softball player Maggie Lock

KWOS is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week, brought to you by MU Health Care Sports Medicine. This week we feature Helias Lady Crusaders softball player Maggie Lock.

Lock had a big week at the plate for the Lady Crusaders. The senior had eight hits, including a double, over five games. She also had seven Runs Batted In (RBI). Defensively, Lock had seven putouts, five assists and no errors at third base.

"Maggie is just so steady. She shows up each day and works hard and wants to perfect her craft. She wants to do the best she can for herself and for the team. You know each day the effort you are going to get and I think that approach for her has led to her success this year," said Helias Head Softball Coach Kelly Fick.

Friday and Saturday, Helias beat Centralia, Odessa, Francis Howell Central and Blue Springs. Helias outscored its opponents in those four games 38 to 7.

The Helias softball team is currently riding an eight game winning streak and is 11-3 on the year.
