Lawmaker faces charges after strange JCMO incident

New details are coming out about the Kansas City area state rep. who’s now facing charges in Jefferson City after an incident last week. Anthony Ealy is accused of threatening a couple at a business on Capitol Avenue. Witnesses claim that Ealy appeared to be having a mental health crisis when he threatened to get a gun and shoot the man.

House leaders removed Ealy’s committee assignments last spring and say they won’t restore those assignments for the next session.

Ealy faces only misdemeanor charges.
