The 20th annual 939 the Eagle Multipli Credit Union Miracles for Kids Radiothon is Thursday and Friday from 6 am to 6 pm on the Eagle and four other Zimmer mid-Missouri radio stations.
Zimmer operations manager Carson says funds raised are used for the greatest needs at MU Health Care’s Children’s Hospital in Columbia:
“I mean we raise this money to help these kids and money goes not towards salaries. Money goes towards research, money goes towards informing the public. Money goes towards equipment and money goes towards the services,” Carson says.

Radiothon raises money for lifesaving equipment and program needs at Children’s Hospital in Columbia. Zimmer operations manager Carson tells 939 the Eagle that some of the listeners who have donated to Radiothon over the years are now benefiting from the hospital’s care:
“We have one of the families … the Meyer family … her story every year is I’ve listened to these for years, I’ve donated for years and here I am using those dollars that I needed when I donated all those years ago. You never know,” says Carson.
The neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital in Columbia admits more than 500 sick and premature infants each year. No child is ever turned away, regardless of ability to pay. You can find additional information about Radiothon here.
