Boone Health’s president predicts the new ambulance station on South Route K in fast-growing south Columbia will save lives.
Boone Health president Brady Dubois helped cut the ribbon and spoke at this week’s ceremony at the new station, which is south of Rock Bridge high school:
“With this new location the southern portion of Columbia, our EMS teams are minutes away for emergency response times were previously. This means our EMTs and paramedics are able to perform life-saving actions faster, having a dramatic impact on thousands of Boone County lives every year,” Mr. Dubois says.
He says the new ambulance station means faster response times of four to five minutes, noting every second matters.
The Boone County Fire Protection District and EMS leaders emphasize the significance of the new ambulance station in fast-growing south Columbia. Boone County Fire Protection District chief Doug Westhoff says projects like this don’t happen by accident. Chief Westhoff spoke at this week’s ceremony, saying projects like this require collaboration and foresight:
“I want to start by thanking the staff and the leadership of Boone Health for their vision and their commitment to making the transition of this facility from a fire station into this new EMS base a reality,” Chief Westhoff says.
Boone Health Emergency Medical Services chief Josh Peak agrees. Mr. Peak says the new ambulance station is a strategic investment in emergency medical care and the community they are privileged to serve daily.
